We left Port Stephens very early as we only had one night at Bellingen River and wanted to make the most of it. We had a lovely site over looking the river and as we settled in I noticed birds diving to catch fish. When I looked again there were no birds fishing, it was the fish juming out of the water all on their own. Not just little jumps, they were going high in the air.

To make the most of our time here we headed into Coffs Habour .for a look around.

We strolled around the harbour and watched fish and a turtle swimming.

As night fell, at about 5:30pm out here, we headed back to camp to continue the flying fishing watching and photograph the sun setting.

Good night, early rise again tomorrow.

Before leaving we popped into Bellingen for breakfast. this was an idyllic little town with a crazy mix of architecture.

The sign above shows directions to the HearthFire Cafe, where we had the most delicious breakfast baps to die for! We were seriously wondering why we had gone to see Coffs Harbour when this town was on our doorstep. The other tourist attraction was the Urunga Broadwalk, so we also headed there. Again, this was really lovely, with a broadwalk out to sea over a tidal esturary with masses of wildlife and wadding birds to observe.

So ended our Amazing Adventures in Urunga and we hit the road for Byron Bay, which was again going to be for one night only folks!

Lots of Love,

Sue and Trev
