Welcome to the most expensive Camp Site to date. We struggled to get in here, not because we couldn't afford it, but because there was a three foot lizaed who'd parked himself across the entrance. he glared at anyone trying to drive around him and seriously looked like he would be capable of biting out the tyres.

Having negotiated him we parked up and walked onto the beach, which was again beautiful. Obviously, the sign on the path to the beach that said "Snake seen in this area", was a bit off-putting, but on the good side, it was a bit faded. The sign, not the snake.

Our camp site was hiding in the trees in the photo above. The rest of the beach was also very pretty.

One of the best restarauants in Byron Bay was situated just at the entrance to our camp site, so we booked here for dinner. Just before heading off, we took drinks down to the edge of the beach to watch the sunset. There was already several other drinkers there, also making out they were there for the sunset, rather than the drinking!

As the evening progressed, so did the sunset and here are a few examples of how it changed over the course of an hour.

Dinner was wonderful. The sunset was still spectacular out of the windows, lovely wine and we both had sea food dishes. Both were wonderful, however, Sue's, not so much, given we were both woken in the middle of the night by Sue's possible food posioning!

Fortunately, by morning, Sue was on the mend and we hit the road for Buderim, north of Brisbane, where we will be staying for two nights with Shelia and Paul.

Lots of love,

Sue and Trev xxx
