Oh my word, just when you think planning is going well.
My advice to would be travellers is set up a travel blog as early as possible, if that's what you want to do. This is the second website we have launched for our travel blog, one designed and built by me, the other designed and built by Rich, my son in New York. Needless to say, his was better, and I have had to re-learn website management on a different application within a week. This would probably be a challenge for a tech savvy youngster, but it was a bit like asking me to fly to the moon and back!
This said, I think we are now in good shape, our website has all the right components and the domain name for the website is purchased and operational. I just need to tell all the family and friends I had pointed to the original website to abandon it and head over to the new website to keep up with us.
I am not suggesting that this is all playing on my mind. Well, maybe I am. Just to illustrate the problem, I had a worrying dream last night. Sue and I were in our camper van and heading towards the ferry terminal between South and North Island in New Zealand. I was driving and the traffic was getting busier and busier. Everyone in the vehicles around us were staring in. I suddenly realised in the dream that I was driving with the drivers seat turned around so that I was looking straight back into the camper van with the windscreen behind me. I panicked, and desperately tried to turn back around. As I am turning I realise that Sue has her foot stretched out resting on the steering wheel and is steering with her toes to help us avoid all the traffic, which is now getting heavier and heavier.
It is at this point, as I am approaching the Port Kiosk to show our ferry tickets for the trip to Wellington that I realise I am buck naked. This was too much for even me to take, dream or no dream, and I woke up in a cold sweat.
On the up side, we haven't even got to New Zealand yet, its just that my brain seems to have gone into planning overload. Maybe I should stop planning now!
Thanks for listening.
Sue and Trev
