Poor Preparation, Poor Performance

With this in mind we have been preparing for our trip since August last year. We first chose our travel agent and decided on TRAVELBAG. With their help we booked flights, transfers, hotels, camper vans and our ferry crossing from South to North Island. We have then planned and booked our camp sites and excursions. For a trip of some 67 days, this is not an insignificant task and takes time and patience. We had some good advice along the way. We were originally planning to travel in January and February, but were advised this is the busiest time, schools are on holidays, it is more expensive and can be extremely hot and uncomfortable. We then moved our plan to March and April. We also thought we would go to Australia, then New Zealand, but again were advised to do it the other way to make the best of the weather. We decided to go for the two-berth Mauri Ultima Camper Van as this seemed to provide sufficient comfort and space while not being a large vehicle to drive around. Finally, don’t forget the tourist visas required for both Australia and New Zealand and the e-Landing Card to be completed for Singapore. The visas can be applied for in advance, but the landing card can only be done 4 days before arrival, but doing it on-line from home saves the inconvenience of doing it at the airport on arrival.
Planning over and done we can’t wait to bring you news of our first visit to Singapore.
