Our last day was a trip to Santosa Island. A walk though the wildlife trails and lunch up on Mount Faber.

Sue asked how large the grill prawns were and was told medium sized, so she went for them. Here is a picture of three medium sized Singapore prawns:

I would hate to think how large the large prawns are!
We arrived at our last night and we still hadn't been to Raffles for our Singapore Slings.

Everyone talks about this as being the highlight of any Singapore visit, but we were surprised how great this was. Firstly, we missed out on the notorious queuing with only 3 people ahead of us when we arrived. We had a great table with a view of the whole bar.

The atmosphere was really buzzy for early evening and we went straight for two Singapore Slings - Classic Original Style. Very soon we had two drinks and a bag of monkey nuts to enjoy.

Our waiter was fantastic and we soon discovered there is a tradition of customers being asked to have a go on the Mechanised Cocktail Shaker, located on the bar. He invited us up to have a go and videoed our efforts. Unfortunately, he had to interrupt the video to try and save the machine falling from the bar as Sue and I vigorously turned the handles. Maybe too vigorously!
Shortly after our initiation into mechanised cocktail shaking, we decided to leave and head to the Marina Bay Sands for drinks and eats at Ce La Vi. The view of Singapore by night was stunning, the company was exquisite and we both felt on top of the world, which on the 57th Floor, we pretty much were.

So this is farewell to the Fairmont Hotel and a final glimpse of the view from our hotel and off to Changi Airport for our flight to Christchurch, where our Camper Van awaits us. What have we done!!!!!

We look forward to adventures in New Zealand - South Island. See you there.

Singapore looks amazing!
Hope the cocktails tasted fabulous despite the vigorous shaking 🤣
